Enumerators and supervisors have already been deployed across the country to begin data collection in their respective areas.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\" data-start=\"302\" data-end=\"657\">As per the schedule, field-level data collection is expected to be completed by the first week of Ashar (mid-June). Around 5,000 personnel have been mobilized for the task. The Ministry of Finance has urged all stakeholders to cooperate, emphasizing that the census will gather crucial data related to the country\u2019s overall industrial and economic sectors.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\" data-start=\"659\" data-end=\"944\">The census will collect baseline information across 18 key economic areas, including industry, business, services, cooperatives, private enterprises, and public institutions. It will document the number, type, investment, employment, production, and service delivery of these entities.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\" data-start=\"946\" data-end=\"1298\">The exercise will cover both registered and unregistered businesses of all sizes, including those providing significant employment or operating as self-employment ventures. It will also include industries, factories, commercial establishments, non-governmental organizations, government enterprises, as well as public and private schools and hospitals.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\" data-start=\"1300\" data-end=\"1589\">Preparatory work for the census was completed by mid-March. At the beginning of Chaitra (mid-March), a total of 84 offices covering all 77 districts along with seven additional units were set up to manage the process. These offices will remain operational until the end of Ashar (mid-July).<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\" data-start=\"1591\" data-end=\"1741\" data-is-last-node=\"\" data-is-only-node=\"\">Nepal last conducted a national economic census in 2018, which reported a total of 923,356 businesses and establishments operating across the country.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Himal Hub \/ Nepal has launched its second nationwide economic census starting today, according to the National Statistics Office.
