Kathmandu, May 14 — The Ninth National Capital Awards ceremony concluded with high honors and vibrant celebration at Bhrikuti Mandap, the conference hall of the Nepal Tourism Board, recognizing 30 distinguished individuals and presenting awards across 32 artistic and entrepreneurial categories.
The event’s chief guest, Deputy Speaker of the Federal Parliament Indira Rana Magar, emphasized the significance of creativity and entrepreneurship in driving societal progress. Former Bagmati Province Chief Minister and current MP Rajendra Pandey, along with Provincial MP Dipendra Shrestha, graced the occasion as special guests.
This year, special honors were awarded to several prominent personalities including senior tourism entrepreneur Sagar Pandey, Chairman of Nepal Construction Industry Council Bali Bhadra Rana, and acclaimed singer Anju Panta. Additionally, Bishal Bhattarai, Ward Chairman of Dhunibeshi Municipality–5 in Dhading, was recognized with the Model People’s Representative Award.
Honorees included advocate Geeta Shrestha, actress Jharana Risal, educational consultancy Goreto Consultancy, agriculture and environment expert Laxman Gurung, and IT expert Hariram Rimal. In the field of journalism, Nawaraj Kunwar (Silapatra), Kamal Kumar Basnet (RSS), and education journalist Bipin Pokharel were recognized for their contributions.
Agricultural entrepreneurs Rajiv Khanal and Devendra Neupane, herbal business leader Hari Sharan Phuyal, and handicraft entrepreneur Palpasa Shrestha were also honored. Similarly, women entrepreneurs Geeta Giri, Anjana Shrestha, Bunty Shahi, Samjhana Manandhar, Anjana Shakya, Deepa Kshestha, Shobha Gurung, Rita Acharya, and Manisha GC were acknowledged for their achievements.
Artists and professionals in the entertainment industry also received recognition, including lyricist Saman Shah, production manager Bhola Poudel, director Dilip KC, education advocate Philip DC, choreographer Sandeep Bhujel, and video director Prakash Bhatt.

In the awards segment, Salon Basnet was named Best Actor, while Devendra Pandey won Best Video Director of the Year. Miss Pavi and Bimal Adhikari were honored as Best Models of the Year (Female and Male) respectively, and Himal Sagar received the Best Singing Award.

The event was chaired by Madhav Brincho, President of the organizing body Capital Entertainment and Media International. The jury panel included pop singer Chiranjeevi Bhandari, musician Rajendra Bajgain, singer Narayan Thapa, and model Pratiksha Kafle. The event was coordinated by Savita Pokhrel.
