Kathmandu – The Government of Nepal has decided to extend the tenure of four Deputy Inspectors General (DIGs) of the Armed Police Force by one year. At a press conference held at the Ministry in Singha Durbar, Government Spokesperson and Minister for Information and Communication Prithvi Subba Gurung announced that the decision was made during Tuesday’s Cabinet meeting.
According to Minister Gurung, the Cabinet decided to extend the tenure of DIGs Kamal Giri, Ganesh Bahadur Thadamagar, Kulbahadur Nembang, and Shambhu Subedi by one year.
In addition to this, the government has promoted Acting Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Amrit Bahadur Rai, to the post of full Secretary.
Minister Gurung also informed that the Cabinet has approved the participation of the State Minister for Forest and Environment in a climate change-related event scheduled to be held in Rome, Italy, from 12 to 15 Falgun 2081.
Furthermore, the government has assigned Joint Secretary Bishnu Prasad Sharma as the Executive Director of the Special Structure Operation and Management Development Committee.
Minister Gurung added that the Cabinet approved the agenda for talks and discussions at the upcoming Nepal-India Intergovernmental Committee Meeting at the commerce secretary level. The meeting will take place in Kathmandu on 26 and 27 Poush, and a negotiation team has been formed under the coordination of the Secretary of the Ministry of Industry, Commerce, and Supplies.
Lastly, the Cabinet granted approval for Deputy Auditor General Bamdev Sharma Adhikari to participate in the “Workshop on Enhancing SAIs-CSOs Engagement in the ASOSAI Region,” to be held in Manila, Philippines, from 28 to 30 Magh 2081.
