Himal Hub / The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has forecast thunderstorms with lightning and strong winds in different parts of the country on Tuesday and Wednesday.
According to the Weather Forecasting Division, the current weather pattern is being influenced by westerly and local winds, along with a low-pressure system in the eastern region.
At present, hilly areas of Lumbini and Sudurpaschim provinces are experiencing generally cloudy conditions, while the rest of the country remains mostly clear. Light rainfall has been recorded in a few places in the hilly regions of Gandaki Province.
This afternoon, hilly and mountainous regions, including Koshi and Madhes provinces, are expected to see increased cloud cover, while the Terai is likely to remain partly cloudy. There is a chance of moderate rainfall and snowfall, accompanied by thunder, lightning, gusty winds, and hail, in some hilly and mountainous areas, particularly in Koshi Province, and at a few locations elsewhere.
By tonight, mountainous areas, including Koshi Province, are expected to remain generally cloudy, with partly cloudy conditions in the hills and mostly clear skies in the Terai. Light rain or snowfall, along with thunder and lightning, may occur at isolated locations in the mountainous regions of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Karnali provinces.
