League 2: Nepal Batting First After Losing Toss Against USA

Himal Hub / Nepal are batting first against the United States in the final match of the home series under the ICC Cricket World Cup League 2.

At the TU International Cricket Ground in Kirtipur, the USA won the toss and elected to field, inviting the home side to take the crease first.

Nepal have retained the same playing XI that secured an impressive victory over Scotland in their previous match, showing confidence in the squad that delivered under pressure.

Both Nepal and the USA head into the contest with momentum after defeating Scotland in their most recent fixtures. The match marks the 28th League 2 appearance for both sides.

The USA currently sit at the top of the League 2 standings with 38 points from 27 matches, while Nepal are placed fifth with 22 points from the same number of games. A victory today would significantly strengthen Nepal’s hopes of breaking into the top four and boosting their qualification ambitions.

The match also carries emotional significance for the home team, as Nepal aim to conclude their home League 2 campaign on a high note in front of local supporters.

Earlier in the tournament cycle, Nepal collected six valuable points by winning three out of four matches in the UAE-Oman tri-series. In the ongoing home series, Nepal have registered two wins and one defeat from three matches so far.

With one final opportunity remaining, the Rhinos will now be aiming for a third victory in the series and a memorable finish on home soil.
