Amid widespread media speculation suggesting the ceasefire between India and Pakistan would end today, the Indian Army has issued a formal clarification dismissing such claims.
In an official statement, the Indian Army stated, “No Director General of Military Operations (DGMO)-level talks are scheduled for today.” The statement further emphasized, “As far as the ceasefire understanding reached during the DGMO-level discussions on May 12 is concerned, it does not carry any defined expiration date.”
Tensions between the two nations escalated into military confrontation following an attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir. Military operations between India and Pakistan had begun on May 7 and were officially halted only after the ceasefire announcement on the evening of May 10.
Despite the ceasefire declaration, both countries have continued to accuse each other of violating the truce and carrying out military strikes.
As of now, the ceasefire remains in effect, with no formal end date or scheduled military-level talks, reinforcing the position that the agreement still stands.
